As of 31 May 2014, the Belgian Code of Economic Law gives all telephone subscribers, both natural and legal persons, the possibility of objecting to the use of their telephone numbers for direct marketing purposes.
To do so, they simply need to sign up with the “Do not call me” -list.
Articles VI.111 to VI.114 and Articles XIV.78 and XIV.81 of the Commercial Code require all companies planning commercial campaigns by telephone to use the “Do not call me” -list. The objective is that these companies do not call the persons and/or companies on this list.
